What did you learn from your reading? Summarize the big ideas here.

I was totally intrigued by the wide array of information which exist for educators and the global learner alike. From chapter 1 to the conclusion, Mr Mark Barnes meticulously display the areas to navigate in the digital world. I learnt that I'm only utilizing a grain of sand of information, tools or apps on the internet as compared to the beach of sand available to the global learner. Also, I learnt to involve the technology in the teaching process which will assist all my students especially students who are introverts.

Additionally, I learnt to foster the new available technology like twitter, scoopi, feedly hootsuite with excellent delivery to engage students in higher level thinking and promote students' creative and innovative skills.

Finally, using aggregators to create, maintain and share content, creating and sharing digital information, using social media, digital and building a personal learning network all holistically develop individuals into global learners. Not to mention, students are the primary targets however these skills should be utilized by all individuals - Literally making the world a global village where positive, thought reliant information is created, curated, shared and constructively criticized.

How did you feel about what you read? Talk about how you think you can use what you learned.

I was totally amazed by the enormous amount of information and skills that I lacked which are utilized by the global learner. I'm looking forward in maximizing these skills acquired during the workshop. I plan to incorporate these skills not only in my classroom with my students but with he wider society during my weekly mathematics program Pow3r of Numb3rs.

I believe the information in this book should be made available to professionals, executives, students, parents and any individual who are interested in continuous personal learning growth using the appropriate agencies.

What questions are you left with? Think about practical considerations for implementing changes.

As mention by Mr Mark Barnes, he limited the book to 5 skills for the Global learner however there might be more skills out there, hence, I would like to research the other skills since we are living in a technologically advanced world with bright ideas, tools and skills developing instantly. Where would I retrieve the other skills not mentioned in the book?

I would be a great idea to write a follow up to this book highlighting the other skills for the Global Learner.
